AP EAPCET, the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (formerly AP EAMCET), is the entrance test for first-year engineering, agriculture, pharmacy and related courses in Andhra Pradesh. JNTU Kakinada conducted the 2026 test on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). For students looking for the next date: AP EAPCET 2027 had not been announced when we checked on 20 October 2026; the APSCHE CETs site still listed the 2026 tests. In 2026 the notification came out on 3 February and the exam was held in May.

How to apply for AP EAPCET

These steps follow the 2026 instruction booklet; check the 2027 one.

  1. Read the instruction booklet for your stream on the AP EAPCET site, especially eligibility and local or non-local status.
  2. Pay the registration fee online, in the order the booklet sets out; the fee depends on category.
  3. Fill in the online application: the stream, your qualifying-exam details, category, local status and test-centre preferences.
  4. Upload your photograph and signature, and any documents the booklet lists.
  5. Submit, print the filled application and keep it.
  6. Download the hall ticket when it is released; it names your session.

Eligibility in short (2026): you must meet the Andhra Pradesh local or non-local status rules and need at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in the specified subjects of the qualifying examination. Some agriculture and veterinary courses also have age limits printed in the booklet.

  • Four options, one correct, one mark each. No negative marking, and nothing is deducted for a blank.
  • One 3-hour timer; you can move between subjects at any time. Calculators are not allowed.
  • Papers differ between sessions, so marks are normalised across sessions.
  • The rank uses 75% EAPCET and 25% Intermediate. Normalised EAPCET marks count for 75% and your Intermediate marks in the group subjects for 25%.
  • To qualify you need 25% of the maximum marks considered for ranking; there is no minimum for SC and ST candidates.

AP EAPCET syllabus

The syllabus is based on the Intermediate (Class 11 and 12) course and is printed in each stream's booklet.

  • Mathematics: algebra (functions, induction, matrices, complex numbers, quadratic expressions, theory of equations, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, partial fractions), trigonometry including hyperbolic functions and properties of triangles, vectors, dispersion and probability, coordinate geometry in 2D and 3D, and calculus.
  • Physics: units and measurement, mechanics, rotation, gravitation, properties of matter, heat and thermodynamics, waves, optics, electrostatics and current electricity, magnetism, EMI and AC, EM waves, dual nature, atoms, nuclei, semiconductors and communication systems.
  • Chemistry: atomic structure, periodicity, bonding, states of matter, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, equilibrium, s-, p-, d- and f-block elements, metallurgy, environmental chemistry, solid state, solutions, electrochemistry, kinetics, surface chemistry and organic chemistry.
  • Botany and Zoology (BiPC only): the Intermediate syllabus from plant and animal diversity to genetics, biotechnology and human physiology.

A plan for the months that are left

If 2027 follows 2026, the test is in mid-May, about seven months away.

Period What to do
Now to January Finish the second-year Intermediate syllabus and revise first year. Intermediate marks are 25% of your rank, so they matter here as much as anywhere. One full mock a fortnight.
February to the Intermediate exams Boards first; one timed 160-question mock each weekend. Apply as soon as the form opens.
After the board exams Three full mocks a week in the session time on your hall ticket, then light revision in the last week.

With 160 questions in 180 minutes you have just over a minute each. In the Engineering stream, Mathematics is half the paper, so start there if it is your strength. There is no negative marking, so answer every question. See how to use mock tests and how to analyse a mock test.
