The Common Eligibility Test (CET) Senior Secondary Level is the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board's (RSSB) entry test for 12th-level state posts such as Constable, Forester, Jamadar Grade II, Hostel Superintendent, Clerk Grade II and Junior Assistant. It is not a recruitment exam in itself: a CET score of at least 40% lets you sit the separate exams for those posts. The 2026 test was advertised as Advertisement No. 08/2026. The advertisement first gave 23 to 25 October 2026, but RSSB has moved the exam to 1 to 3 December 2026 (press note of 14 October 2026, checked 21 October 2026). This guide covers the date, eligibility, the pattern, the syllabus and a six-week plan.

Rajasthan CET 12th level 2026 exam date

Para 9 of Advertisement No. 08/2026 first fixed the test for 23 to 25 October 2026. On 28 September 2026 the board issued a press note on revised exam dates, because the October 2026 urban body and Panchayati Raj elections clashed with the old schedule, and its press note of 14 October 2026 confirms: CET (Senior Secondary Level) 2026 will be held from 1 to 3 December 2026, in two shifts a day, in 38 districts (checked 21 October 2026).

Marks are normalised across shifts. Your own shift, date and centre will be on the admit card, which RSSB issues through the SSO login and the Recruitment Portal; it is not sent by post. The board has not yet announced the admit card date: watch the RSSB home page. Our Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary exam dates page shows the latest checked date.

How to apply for Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary

Online applications for CET 2026 ran from 24 June to 23 July 2026, so the window is closed. A last chance to withdraw an application ran from 16 to 18 October 2026 for candidates without the required qualification or who did not wish to sit the exam. If you applied, the next step is the admit card.

For the next CET, the process works like this:

  1. Read the advertisement on the RSSB advertisements page (choose the year and "Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level)").
  2. Log in to the Rajasthan SSO portal and open Recruitment Portal under Citizen Apps (G2C).
  3. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) and pay the one-time fee if you have not done so, entering your category, disability status and home state carefully, because they cannot be changed later.
  4. Choose the CET advertisement, fill in the form, including a visible body mark, and submit. Keep the application number and a printout.
  5. Download the admit card from the same portal before the exam.

Documents to keep ready: Class 12 marksheet (or proof that you are in the final year), Class 10 certificate for the date of birth, category and Rajasthan domicile certificates if you claim a relaxation, a disability certificate and UDID details if they apply, and a recent photograph.

Eligibility: Senior Secondary or equivalent. Candidates in or appearing for the final year may apply but must hold the qualification as the service rules require. Age 18 to 40 on 1 January 2027, with the relaxations in the advertisement. Scores of the 2024 CET (Senior Secondary) lapsed on 16 February 2026, so those candidates had to apply again.

Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary exam pattern

Item Detail
Paper One paper covering all subjects
Questions and marks 120 questions, 240 marks, all of equal marks (2 each)
Time 2 hours 30 minutes, one clock for the whole paper
Wrong answer One-third of the question's marks deducted
Option E Darken E for a question you do not attempt
No bubble at all Loses one-third of the question's marks; leaving more than 10% of questions with no bubble disqualifies you
Extra time 10 minutes after the scheduled time to darken E
Qualifying score 40% (96 of 240), with up to 5% relaxation for SC and ST

The board does not publish how many questions each subject carries. Compared with the Graduate Level CET (150 questions in 3 hours), the 12th-level paper is shorter and its history and economy parts are about Rajasthan only.

Rajasthan CET 12th level syllabus

  • History of Rajasthan: ancient sites, rulers, 1857, peasant, tribal and Praja Mandal movements, integration
  • Art and culture of Rajasthan: architecture, painting, folk music and dance, folk deities, fairs, dialects and literature
  • Geography of India and of Rajasthan, including soils, minerals, livestock, population and tribes
  • Indian political system with special reference to Rajasthan, and Panchayati Raj
  • Economy of Rajasthan: agriculture, industry, handicrafts, drought and famine, welfare schemes, MGNREGA
  • Everyday science: chemical changes, carbon compounds, light and vision, space, genetics, ecology, biotechnology, blood groups and diseases
  • Logical reasoning and mathematics: blood relations, series, clock, calendar, coding, seating, arithmetic, mensuration and data
  • Current affairs, Fundamental Duties and the 2022 Act on unfair means in recruitment exams; public health (first aid, CPR, drug abuse, fitness, social media addiction)
  • Computer knowledge: memory, devices, files and MS Office
  • General Hindi and General English, including official terms and letters

The topic-wise list is on our Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary syllabus page; the board's own text is in para 17 of the advertisement.

A six-week plan to 1 December

  • Week 1: One full Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary mock test in 2 hours 30 minutes, marking E on every skipped question. Note your score by subject.
  • Week 2: Rajasthan history, art and culture: sites and rivers, Praja Mandals, the seven stages of integration, paintings, folk dances, deities and fairs.
  • Week 3: Geography of India and Rajasthan, polity and Panchayati Raj, and Rajasthan's economy. One full mock at the end of the week.
  • Week 4: Reasoning and mathematics every day, plus General Hindi (sandhi, samas, spelling, idioms, official terms) and General English (voice, narration, prepositions).
  • Week 5: Everyday science, computer knowledge, civic duty and public health, and the year's main state and national events. Two full mocks.
  • Week 6: Revision only, one mock early in the week, and a check of your admit card details and centre.

A wrong answer costs two-thirds of a mark, so random guessing on a four-option question gains nothing on average; it starts to pay only when you can rule out an option. Negative marking: when to guess explains the arithmetic, and how to analyse a mock test shows what to do after each mock.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Rajasthan CET 12th level 2026 exam date?

RSSB's press note of 14 October 2026 fixes it for 1 to 3 December 2026, two shifts a day (checked 21 October 2026). The 23 to 25 October dates in the advertisement no longer apply.

Is there negative marking in Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary?

Yes. A wrong answer loses one-third of the question's marks. A question with no bubble darkened also loses one-third, so darken E for any question you skip.

How many questions are there in CET 12th level?

120 multiple-choice questions for 240 marks, in 2 hours 30 minutes, on one OMR sheet with no separate timing for subjects.

What is the passing mark in Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary?

You need at least 40% to sit the recruitment exams that use the CET, with a relaxation of up to 5% for SC and ST candidates. The CET score itself is not a job offer.

How long is the CET score valid?

Three years from the result, and there is no limit on attempts. Your best valid score counts.

Can I still apply for Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary 2026?

No. Applications closed on 23 July 2026. Watch the RSSB advertisements page for the next CET.
