Rajasthan CET Graduate Level 2026: exam date, pattern, syllabus and how to apply

The Common Eligibility Test (CET) Graduate Level is the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board's (RSSB) entry test for twelve graduate-level state posts, among them Patwari, Village Development Officer, Junior Accountant, Tehsil Revenue Accountant and Deputy Jailor. It is not a recruitment exam in itself: a CET score of at least 40% lets you sit the separate exams for those posts. The 2026 test was advertised as Advertisement No. 09/2026, and the advertisement fixes the exam for 1 to 3 December 2026 (checked 20 October 2026). This guide covers the date, eligibility, the pattern, the syllabus and a six-week plan.

Rajasthan CET 2026 exam date
Para 9 of Advertisement No. 09/2026 fixes the CET (Graduate Level) 2026 for 1 to 3 December 2026, offline and OMR-based (checked 20 October 2026). The RSSB home page also lists a press note on the exam dates for CET (Senior Secondary and Graduation) 2026.
If the test runs in more than one shift, marks are normalised across shifts. Your own shift, date and district will be on the admit card; watch the RSSB home page for the exam-city notice and admit-card link. Our Rajasthan CET exam dates page shows the latest checked date.
How to apply for Rajasthan CET Graduate Level
Online applications for CET 2026 ran from 4 July to 2 August 2026 through the SSO portal, so the window is closed. If you applied, the next steps are the exam-city information and the admit card, both through the SSO portal and RSSB's site.
For the next CET, the process works like this:
- Read the advertisement on the RSSB advertisements page (choose the year and "Common Eligibility Test (Graduation Level)").
- Log in to the Rajasthan SSO portal, creating an SSO ID if you do not have one.
- Open Recruitment Portal, choose the CET advertisement and fill in the form.
- Pay the fee and submit; keep a printout of the form.
- Download the admit card from the same portal before the exam.
Documents to keep ready: graduation certificate or final-year marksheet, Class 10 certificate for the date of birth, category and Rajasthan domicile certificates if you claim a relaxation, and a recent photograph.
Eligibility: a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Final-year students may apply but must hold the degree as the service rules require. Age 18 to 40 on 1 January 2027, with the relaxations set out in the advertisement.
Rajasthan CET exam pattern
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Paper | One paper covering all subjects |
| Questions and marks | 150 questions, 2 marks each, 300 marks |
| Time | 3 hours, one clock for the whole paper |
| Wrong answer | One-third of the question's marks deducted |
| Option E | Darken E for a question you do not attempt |
| No bubble at all | Loses one-third of the question's marks; leaving more than 10% of questions with no bubble disqualifies you |
| Extra time | 10 minutes after the 3 hours to darken E |
| Qualifying score | 40%, with up to 5% relaxation for SC and ST |
The board does not publish how many questions each subject carries. The most important rule on the day is the five-bubble OMR sheet: every question must have exactly one of A, B, C, D or E darkened.
Rajasthan CET syllabus
- History, art, culture, literature, traditions and heritage of India and Rajasthan
- Geography of India and Rajasthan
- Indian political system, with special reference to Rajasthan
- Economy of India and Rajasthan
- Science and technology
- Logical reasoning and mathematics (series, ratio, percentage, interest, profit and loss, time and work, mensuration, trigonometry, statistics)
- Current events and civic duty, and public health
- Computer knowledge (operating system, internet, MS Office)
- General Hindi and General English
The topic-wise list is on our Rajasthan CET syllabus page; the board's own text is in the advertisement and on its exam scheme page.
A six-week plan to 1 December
- Week 1: One full Rajasthan CET mock test in 3 hours, marking E on every skipped question. Note your score by subject.
- Week 2: Rajasthan history, art and culture: forts, paintings, fairs, folk deities, Praja Mandal movements and the integration of Rajasthan.
- Week 3: Rajasthan and India geography, polity and economy, including Rajasthan's crops, irrigation projects and welfare schemes.
- Week 4: Reasoning and mathematics every day, plus General Hindi grammar (sandhi, samas, synonyms, word and sentence correction) and General English. One full mock.
- Week 5: Science, computer knowledge, civic duty and public health, and current events of the last year. Two full mocks.
- Week 6: Revision only, one mock early in the week, and a check of your admit card details.
A wrong answer costs two-thirds of a mark, so random guessing on a four-option question gains nothing on average; it starts to pay only when you can rule out an option. Negative marking: when to guess explains the arithmetic, and how to analyse a mock test shows what to do after each mock.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Rajasthan CET Graduate Level 2026 exam date?
The advertisement fixes it for 1 to 3 December 2026 (checked 20 October 2026). Your shift and centre will be on the admit card.
Is there negative marking in Rajasthan CET?
Yes. A wrong answer loses one-third of the question's 2 marks. A question with no bubble darkened also loses one-third, so darken E for any question you skip.
What is the passing mark in Rajasthan CET?
You need at least 40% to sit the recruitment exams that use the CET, with a relaxation of up to 5% for SC and ST candidates. The CET score itself is not a job offer.
How long is the CET score valid?
Three years from the result, and there is no limit on attempts. Your best valid score counts.
Is Rajasthan CET a job exam?
No. It is an eligibility test. Posts such as Patwari and Village Development Officer are filled through separate exams held later, open to candidates with a qualifying CET score.
Can I still apply for Rajasthan CET 2026?
No. Applications closed on 2 August 2026. Watch the RSSB advertisements page for the next CET.
